MEGADETH Drummer Recovering From Knee Surgery

December 4, 2005

MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover (also in EIDOLON) has posted the following message in the "Forums" section of the band's official web site:

"So it's been 10 days now since my surgery, and I have to say that this has NOT been a fun ride thus far. The day I left the hostpital, I actually felt pretty decent... until the pain medication wore off

"The road to recovery thus far has been a struggle for me — I am certainly NOT one who enjoys being bed-ridden for long periods of time, thus have already jerked my knee out of wack, thus making this whole endeavor even more enjoyable (obvious sarcasm here). The first sign of feeling even the slightest bit better and I think I can do cartwheels down the street — the reality of this couldn't be further from the truth (don't yell at me, Nikki). Of course, I will be fine in time — I start my rehabilitation this coming week, which in all honesty, I was not even going to do (until I re-injured myself — d-oh!!!!!) In my naivety, I figured I could recover on my own — this obviously is not the case, here. As with any obsticle I have had in life thus far, I WILL certainly persevere!!! (I always do.)

"Aside from this crap, everytrhing is great here in MEGA-land. I am reading that our video for 'Of Mice and Men' is one of the top 15 metal videos for 2005 on 'Headbanger's Ball', which is certainly nice — I will be tuning in tonight to watch this show.

"The Drovers will be headed to Toronto, Canada for the Christmas holidays, which I am very much looking forword to!!! Both of my kids have NEVER been on a ski-doo, or even gone tobogganing (a Canadian must, as a kid). We will be headed up to my sister's cottage way up in the Mustoka's, for some well-deserved fun in the snow!!!! My entire family will be together for X-mas for the first time since I moved to America, and probably the last time, as my kids are getting up in age, so we fully plan on having such a killer time!!!!"
